Sterilization Technician Placement – Mount Hospital (2 Weeks)

During my two-week placement at Mount Hospital, I gained hands-on experience as a Sterilization Technician, where I was responsible for assisting in the sterilization of medical instruments and equipment. My tasks included operating autoclaves and other sterilization equipment, monitoring sterilization cycles, and ensuring compliance with infection control standards. I also contributed to the inspection, packaging, and storage of sterilized items to maintain a sterile environment. Through this experience, I developed a strong understanding of sterilization protocols, quality assurance practices, and the importance of infection control in a clinical setting, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and hygiene.
