I have worked in medical research for 7 years at Walter and Eliza Hall research institute. Throughout this time I have gained an immense knowledge and a vast set of skills. I have learnt the importance of safety having worked in a field that involves high risk work. I have safely worked with infectious mice and handle hazardous drugs daily. I believe this is an invaluable train i would bring to the role. I am an individual that works best with I am learning and growing and for that reason I am excited to be seeking a career change. I believe I have the universal skills, safety and compliance to thrive in this new industry.
My role as Senior Animal Technician focuses largely on working beside research staff from the Ovarian cancer research laboratory and assisting with their experimental projects. It is important every task is completed with the utmost care and precision to ensure the best science and results can be achieved. This position requires me to work independently and in teams and l thrive in both environments.
I am required to clearly communicate with superior staff regularly regarding experimental results. I train technical skills to both technician staff and research staff.

This role encouraged an immense confidence working independently and managing large colonies of mice. This duty required exceptional organisation and time management skills.
