My role as Senior Animal Technician focuses largely on working beside research staff from the Ovarian cancer research laboratory and assisting with their experimental projects. It is important every task is completed with the utmost care and precision to ensure the best science and results can be achieved. This position requires me to work independently and in teams and l thrive in both environments.

I am required to clearly communicate with superior staff regularly regarding experimental results. I train technical skills to both technician staff and research staff.

My role as an Animal technician at WEHI Kew Campus involved breeding and maintain quality animals to be supplied internally and externally. This role encouraged an immense confidence working independently and managing large colonies of mice. This duty required exceptional organisation and time management skills.

• Daily maintenance of mouse cages (cleaning and feeding)

• Use of pedigree charts
