Stephen Neil Gamarra

Summary

With a diverse career spanning private business ownership and a distinguished 14-year tenure with the Australian Federal Police (AFP), I have honed invaluable skills in relationship management, public engagement, budget oversight, and successful project leadership. My roles have encompassed managing teams, navigating technical and legislative landscapes, and delivering results across varied environments.

In late 2021, I made a personal decision to resign from the AFP to support my brother through a serious medical diagnosis, temporarily assisting in the operations of his business. This pivotal experience prompted my transition to the construction industry, where I am now pursuing a new path as a Construction Project Manager in the ACT.

Despite being new within construction, I am enthusiastic about leveraging my existing skills and attributes to excel in this field. I am actively learning from seasoned industry professionals while contributing to complex projects, eager to make a meaningful impact.

Small Business Owner/Operator

In 2015, I created a small business plan of a Barbershop and men's boutique called Groomed - The Gentlemen's General Store.

The sole objective of this business was to provide Canberra the level of services which had not be introduced at that time. From inception, planning and execution, I was solely responsible for every stage of this project.

was required to learn all aspects of operating a small business, including however not limited to, customer service, inventory ordering, daily reconciliation. staff management, recruitment, profit and loses projections and account preparations. After operating for 6 months, the business generated and returned my initial investment into this project.

I was approached by companies such as Qantas and Channel 10, whom offered to publish and advertise within the Travel Insider and The Bachelor. To further demonstrate the success of Groomed, Trufitt & Hill, an international business brand associated with the world's longest operating barbershop, viewed my business as a direct competitor within the Canberra region.
