• As key liaison between the Finance Team and IT, the main purpose of this role was to ensure that the core financial system (SAP) and all other applications across the finance systems landscape were meeting the continually evolving needs of the finance business users and the organisation as a whole.
• My success in this role was highly dependent on establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the hierarchy within the Finance and IT teams, which I was able to do over the course of my 12.5 years in the role.
• Also crucial to my success in this role was my ability to understand the entire accounting and finance framework across this large and complex organisation.
• With my strong mix of accounting expertise and financial systems experience, I was able to play a key role in the success of many large projects over 12.5 years, including:

- Design and implementation of a comprehensive, university wide budgeting and forecasting application and all associated integrations

- Design and implementation of expense management

system and all associated integrations

- Design and implementation of procurement system and all associated integrations

- Design and implementation of integrations for Financial reporting and Analytics BI dashboard

- Configuration and implementation of new SAP modules to enable compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS15 & 16)

• In addition to major projects, my role included BAU support such as bug fixes, enhancements of all sizes, training and advice regarding business processes.
• Preparing thorough and extensive documentation for all of the above was also a key function of my role.

• Provided expert technical & functional support and assistance to finance team and end users in relation to functional processes of SAP Finance & Purchasing systems.

• As a certified MYOB consultant, I worked with small business owners & operators to assist them in improving their accounting systems & processes. This could be installing and setting up MYOB and then training them to use it effectively, or taking on the bookkeeping tasks myself from data entry all the way through to BAS lodgement
• During this time I built up a portfolio of regular bookkeeping clients and provided MYOB based consulting and training services to numerous clients across varying industries and professions

• Managed the accounting & taxation affairs of a portfolio of small and medium sized businesses and individuals, reporting directly to the Partner in charge
• Assisting and training clients in their use of MYOB accounting & Payroll software

• Preparation of financial accounts, tax returns, detailed cashflow budgets etc. for clients of varying types, sizes and business structures
• Assisting and training clients in their use of MYOB accounting software
• Supervising graduate accountants which involved delegation of tasks and review of work

• Preparation of financial accounts & income tax returns for mainly small businesses of varying types and business structures as well as individuals
• Provided MYOB consulting and training services to clients
