Continuing with Toyota I spent a year contracted to BHP Nickle West Cliffs underground mine site where I was ask to join the team in Heavy machinery work shop in 2012.
I’ve spent the last ten years expanding my hydraulic, auto electrical and welding skills in the underground environment.
I spent time on all crews and meshed well into each crew.
Work performed has been a mixture of shared rostered underground breakdown and workshop time. Performing both Drill and Bogger daily service and repairs coupled with a high level, conscientious approach to safety while also maintaining a “rapid response” approach to breakdown times allowing for the successful elevation of high hours of machine downtime and cutting costs to a minimum while performing a high quality of workmanship.
Scheduled servicing and prior raised notification repairs along with end of life major component change outs where undertaken with an enthusiastic and proactive approach, clear mindset and strong adherence to safety to successfully accomplish higher KPI targets and succeed with outstanding machine availability.

Ranging from Isuzu to Scania trucks.

I also performed all minor and major services on all these equipment.
I was part of a team that successfully relocated 2 four post hoists systems from the old workshop to new workshop and set it up ready for use. I was seen to always strive for continuous improvement plans to be put in place for the new workshop that was being built during my time at Brockman 2.
I performed team breakdown diagnostics on Scania water carts out in the pit, diagnosing fuel system faults and transmission faults out in the field.
I was only meant to be filling in for a two week swing but due to my extensive knowledge and exposure to a wide range of equipment I have worked on, they happily kept me on for three and a half months.
