Responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring the safety, compliance, and operational integrity of open-cut coal mining operations.

• Perform regular site inspections of open-cut mining operations to assess safety conditions, manage risks associated with daily tasks, monitor environmental compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
• Evaluate mining practices, ensuring safe operation of machinery and compliance to mine sequencing plans.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant mining safety regulations.
• Allocate personnel and equipment based on project needs, operational demands, and safety priorities, optimizing resource utilization to meet project deadlines.
• Document and report any findings or deviations from safety standards, collaborating with supervisors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift safety checks, verifying the readiness of the site and equipment for daily operations.
• Provide leadership in maintaining a culture of safety, promoting the reporting of hazards, and encouraging proactive safety measures within the team.

Participated in UWJV Supervisor Development Program, gaining diverse experience across various departments.

• Actively engaged in the Supervisor Development Program, completing rotations through Technical Services, Pit Services, and Drill and Blast, gaining a comprehensive understanding of mining operations.
• Enhanced leadership and technical skills by working closely with Open Cut Examiners (OCEs) across production crews, observing their leadership styles, and applying their expertise in real-time situations.
• Gained hands-on experience in the role of Open Cut Examiner, strengthening my practical knowledge of safety, compliance, and operational processes.
• Contributed to my development as a well-rounded Mining Supervisor, with exposure to different operational aspects and leadership techniques.

• Conduct safe and productive operation of various heavy equipment whilst adhering to safe work place policies and procedures.
