Summary

With the support of IMAS management I have recently experienced 12 months on Leave With out Pay (LWOP) to travel, further explore and increase my skillset, develop my leadership potential and apply my skippering skills and management in extreme climates and conditions.

The experiences with the Australia Antarctic Division ( AAD) has nurtured my leadership experience and potential and I have relished the opportunity to plan, lead and reflect on our accomplishments. I was recognised for upholding the expectations of ADD in the area of equality, work schedules, work health and safety and being proactive in using proper protocols. Our team successfully carried out the required tasks and upon completion I provided feedback to each member and completed performance reviews.

As a technical officer with IMAS, I believe I have a proven record with diving, laboratory and field work, boat driving and mentoring new staff. I am hard working and passionate about the Tasmanian environment and fisheries and I wish to be a long term contributor to IMAS. I am eager to undertake any further studies or take on additional responsibilities to meet the strategic goals of IMAS.

I have successfully worked in high-stress situations with machinery, boats, personnel and I am comfortable to lead and respond to keep my colleagues in a safe and secure work environment.

I am very practical and can trouble shoot issues out on the field and my easy gong nature ensures tasks are completed within the expected timeframes.

Environmental management is crucial and I wish to be a positive contributor to our sustainable fisheries and effective management of climate change.
