Stuarte has over 25 years of experience in global markets working in both Australia and overseas pricing and trading in Foreign Exchange, Rate, Credit and Equity products. In these products Stuarte has priced and traded a wide range of linear and non-linear risks and has performed a diverse range of roles ranging from product manger to proprietary trader manger. Stuarte’s background in accounting and mathematical nature provided an opportunity to join the front office business in 1990 where he wrote all the pricing and hedging programs for the SBNSW swaps trading business. This background provided Stuarte with an intimate understanding of the risks of running a swaps portfolio to which he was to leverage over his career. As a manager Stuarte has been involved in both small and medium sized teams both locally and cross boarder. He has managed both traders and professional sales staff and was recognised for his partnership skills in 2000 by being awarded Chase Manhattan’s “Top Tier” award. Stuarte has been keen to train and promote the development of people with former staff now in senior positions in the bank. At JP Morgan Stuarte was the Managing Director responsible for the AUD and NZD derivatives business and is an active proprietary trader. Stuarte was employed by National Australia Bank in 2008 and was a key resource in the banks successfully navigation of the GFC being responsible for liquidity in Australia and Asia. Most recently Stuarte has tasked with uniting the Sydney and Melbourne Treasury Risk teams building a culture of performance, transparency and accountability.
