In 2022, my main work has been with MATRS for ADF members, working from home and in the office in Adelaide. There are some key responsibilities that I participate within my job role, vaccinations for adults under the direction of a MO and defence health plan (when working in outpatient units such as at Lavarack and Keswick Barracks); wound management, pre and post-employment medicals, spirometry, pathology, ECG, assisting GP with minor procedures, planning and management of patient care, documentation and advocacy; infection control, pre and post deployment medicals, BMI, audiometry and cannulation, stock taking/ordering, mentoring Enrolled nurses, and liaising with other health professionals.

In the role at MATRS, working 12-hour shifts, I am responsible for providing tele health medical advice, triage and referral services to defence members. Using clinical assessment, triage skills and providing advice and referral for eligible personnel via the All-Hours Support Line for those with mental health issues or enquiries. I use tools and standard scripting provided by the Commonwealth to make clinical decisions.
