In 2022, my main work has been with MATRS for ADF members, working from home and in the office in Adelaide. There are some key responsibilities that I participate within my job role, vaccinations for adults under the direction of a MO and defence health plan (when working in outpatient units such as at Lavarack and Keswick Barracks); wound management, pre and post-employment medicals, spirometry, pathology, ECG, assisting GP with minor procedures, planning and management of patient care, documentation and advocacy; infection control, pre and post deployment medicals, BMI, audiometry and cannulation, stock taking/ordering, mentoring Enrolled nurses, and liaising with other health professionals.

In the role at MATRS, working 12-hour shifts, I am responsible for providing tele health medical advice, triage and referral services to defence members. Using clinical assessment, triage skills and providing advice and referral for eligible personnel via the All-Hours Support Line for those with mental health issues or enquiries. I use tools and standard scripting provided by the Commonwealth to make clinical decisions.

In 2019 I moved to Adelaide where I continued to work the same role (in an outpatient settings and on the ward) at Keswick Barracks and at Edinburgh Health Centre.

I also commenced work with the Medical Triage and Referral Service (MATRS) in Telehealth. Conducting thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.

In 2016 I worked full-time as a Registered nurse at the Lavarack Health Centre on a 17-bed ward, The patient care unit. In Oct 2016 I commenced on a new contract working with Healthcare Australia Garrison Health Services in the same facility at Lavarack Health Centre

In 2019 July, the contract changed to SERCO ADF Health Services Contract, working in the same role as a Registered Nurse. Conducting thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.

In June 2014 I applied to work with Aspen Medical for Defence in Primary Health Care in a Bench position. In this role I have worked as a Registered nurse permanent part time, working autonomously at times and with other health professionals in primary health care. Working in Far North Queensland at different bases within Defence.

On moving to Townsville in 2013, I worked in many different environments as a registered nurse. Working casual shifts, intermittently working several short contracts at The Townsville University Hospital on medical, surgical wards, and the short stay unit/ED. I utilized critical thinking skills. Prioritizing nursing interventions based on patients' acuity levels and individual needs.

I studied Certificate in Neuroscience Nursing in 2010 and then applied to become a Clinical Nurse in 2011 working on a Neurosurgical 18 bed ward Maintained strong working relationships with physicians and ancillary staff, fostering a collaborative approach to patient care delivery. Responding to patient emergencies to provide prompt and correct intervention.

I have been nursing as a Registered nurse since2004 and have many accomplishments. Conducted thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary. Administered medications safely according to established guidelines while closely monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions requiring intervention.
