The most challenging and rewarding part of my teaching career is developing a curriculum for schools and those with varying learning abilities such as Disruptive disorders, ASD, Down Syndrome, and ADHD. Dance has a wonderful ability to bring out the best in children, it uses both their left and right brain hemispheres, it is proven to have cognitive advantages in increasing memory, improving focus and attention span, socialization, spatial awareness, mathematics, oral communication, balance and co-ordination and repetitious learning skills, however most importantly it gives children social competence and confidence.
