Acting Residential Manager – Summary of Experience

Over a 6-week period, I embraced the challenge of stepping into the Acting Residential Manager (RM) role, gaining valuable hands-on experience and further developing my leadership capabilities.

• Quick Learner & Adaptability: Demonstrated strong learning ability by quickly familiarizing myself with key operational tools and processes, including SharePoint for maintaining up-to-date compliance documentation.
• System Proficiency: Gained practical experience with Humanforce and the Master Roster, approving timesheets and adjusting rosters as needed to support effective staffing.
• Finance & Budget Management: Took financial responsibility by managing the RM card appropriately, contributing to budget oversight, and successfully utilizing the CEO incentive initiative to implement staff-driven ideas. • Digital Tools & Applications: Attended Flexi Purchase training sessions and became proficient in the application, including expense approvals and accurate invoicing. Also worked confidently across various platforms such as InPlace, PageUp, CIP updates, MAC portal, GPMS, NAPS, CarePage surveys, SIRS reporting, Signature Service Reviews, and NSAF review processes.
• Quality & Compliance: Collaborated closely with NUMs to analyze and act on NQIP data to drive improvements. Oversaw and monitored staff compliance and supported clinical teams in completing monitoring tools accurately and promptly.
• Complaint & Risk Management: Managed and responded to external complaints from the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC), all of which were resolved satisfactorily during my time in the role.

This temporary role provided me with a comprehensive and enriching experience, enhancing my operational knowledge and confidence in leading residential aged care services.

• Worked as a casual RN with a mixed of AM/PM/ND shifts. Covering for NUM role and effectively settle into a new environment daily.
• Able to follow Arcare policies and protocols. Learnt more about monitoring tool, GP round, clinical risk identification.
