1. Examined many residents with sacral wounds that were caused by pressure injury, followed a wound care plan and ensured that ANTT was utilised .
2. Developed therapeutic relationships with the residents whilst providing them comfort in their homes.
3. Identified that a patient was hypoglycemia within a type 1 diabetic, I notified the supervising registered nurse and required nursing interventions were conducted by providing the patient why high glucose juice and later testing the glucose levels to ensure that the patient was back within limits.
1. Educated a high-risk patient on how to use their mobility aids more effectively, by utilising the knowledge I had learnt on effective communication and mobility which in turn lead to the patient not having any falls or near misses during their hospital stay.
2. Developed my communication skills further with the multidisciplinary team by attending a multidisciplinary meeting to ensure that the patients receive high levels of nursing care.,
3. Examined whether patients had COVID by completing RAT tests for all new admissions so that proper precautions could be implemented to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
1. Managed a patient load of 3 patients per shift and conducted general observations and wound care for all three of my patients, which in turn provided high levels of care for the patients.,
2. Examined a patient's peripheral intravenous cannula (PIVC) for any signs of infection, the site was inflamed and warm to touch, the supervising RN was notified, and the cannula was removed to reduce any further harm. Doctors were notified to recite the cannula.
3. Demonstrated my understanding of the 6 rights and 3 checks when administering medications during medication rounds.
1. Developed my aseptic non touch techniques to ensure that the sterile field is maintained to minimise / prevent the occurrence of infection
2. Demonstrated my knowledge on sterility through assisting in the preparation of surgical instruments as well as preparing patients for their operations.

3. Gained knowledge on electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), as well the potential side effects that come with its use.
1. Developed my skills in recognizing the deterioration of patients receiving treatment such febrile and or allergic reactions.
2. Educating patients and their families about the chemotherapy process, potential side effects and self-care measures such regular exercising and the use of anti-emetic medications
3. Gained knowledge on the different types of chemotherapy and their different side effects that they have on different patients. As well as gaining knowledge on the different pre-medications that are required.
