Ticket checking and safely boarding passenger using the gangway/boat ramp.
Assisting special care need customer (specially with wheel chair & taking them to right location on the vessel).
Took responsibility for ship operations in cases of injury or illness.
work closely with captain on the radio and assisting him to navigate through harbour traffic ( specially on circular quay area)
Always keeping communication with captain and providing first aid treatment incase any passenger gets injured on board (situations i dealt with but not least were people tripping from stairs, intoxicated people, broken glass cuts, intoxicated people getting into brawls).
Keeping loop communication with captain and taking advice from him to take next step in case of emergencies such as calling ambulance or paramedics. In some cases, passenger were highly intoxicated and unconsious so i needed to remain calm and stay in phone line with paramedics while keeping them updated about the passenger situation until they arrived to the location.
Inspecting the vessel from time to time during the cruise to make sure the passengers are not sitting on the hand rails , drinking appropriately, not getting into any brawls, not doing any drugs in the bathroom, not throwing rubbish into the harbour were my day to day duties.
