1. Practice in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) National Competency Standards for Registered Nurses
2. Practice in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS)Standards

3. Practice in accordance with The Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN)

4. Setting up and handing sterile supplies and instruments to the surgeons

5. Maintain an accurate count of all accountable items throughout the procedure

6. Consistently monitor the intra-operative environment and the aseptic status of the sterile team using their surgical conscience.

• Perform aseptic technique during the operation
• Prepare required instruments and consumables for assigned operations
• Prepare and assist anesthetist for GA/SA/MAC case
• Maintain safe and correct positioning of patient for the surgery
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical documentation
• Work as assistant in LSCS and endoscopic surgeries
• Maintain and keep stock balance of surgical consignments.

• To assess the suitability of those presenting for COVID-19 testing
• To collect swab samples in accordance with the prescribed procedures under the supervision of Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader
• To perform any other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader.

• Ensure stock of supplies is well maintained
• Prepare emergency operations timely
• Maintain patient safety and occupational safety and health during work
• Prepare and assist anesthetist for GA/SA/MAC case
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical documentation.

• Monitor, record and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions
• Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan implement, or evaluate patient care plans
• Perform preoperative and postoperative care to gynecology patients.
