I am a dedicated and experienced educator with a strong background in upper primary teaching since 2015, complemented by extensive relief teaching experience across Pre-Kindy to Year 3. Skilled in creating engaging engaging, inclusive, and well-managed learning environments, with proven success in supporting students with challenging behaviours to achieve positive outcomes.


Teaching in this every changing climate of technology, I am passionate about integrating ICT effectively into the classroom, with significant expertise in implementing iPads as powerful learning tools. I have contributed to whole- school innovation as part of the team that achieved Apple Distinguished school recognition. Experienced curriculum leader in Mathematics and Science, driving collaborative planning and improved learning outcomes.


I am deeply committed to fostering both academic growth and character development, guided by Christian values and and strong roots and involvement in Nations church community.

Company Overview: Bertram Primary School a large IPS located in Kwinana WA. From 2016-present it is recognised as an Apple Distinguished School offering a 1:1 BYOD program from Pre-Primary to Year 6.


  • I taught year 5/6 solely and then collaboratively in an open double classroom, team teaching situation. In 2019 I started working part-time after returning from MAT leave. Where I was in a .4 job-sharing position teaching in a year 4 and year 6 classroom. I returned to .8 load in 2019 then full time in Year 6. From 2021 I returned to full time teaching Year 6. I again took MAT leave from January 2022 and have extended that MAT leave.
  • Collaboratively plan, implement and assess exemplary teaching and learning programs.
  • Use Kagan cooperative learning strategies to enhance the social and academic skills of all students.
  • Used Kagan and 1,2,3 Magic behaviour managment system to create a wholesome and respectful atmosphere where students felt safe, welcomed and part of our classroom community.
  • Integrate the use of technology as an educational and motivational tool daily, using the SAMR model to consistently work towards task redefinition.
  • Implement connected practice strategies including the iSTAR lesson model with clearly stated learning intentions (WALT and WILF), consistent classroom displays, use of flash carding and disciplined dialogue with colleagues to frequently review and increase student outcomes.
  • Implement the 1-2-3 Magic! behaviour management system.
  • Explicitly teach expected whole school behaviours using Bertram’s PBS matrix and language.
  • Regular communication with parents and carers via Seesaw, Remind, email, face to face meetings and phone calls.
  • Appointed Curriculum leader for Science in 2015. This included creating the content for the Bertram Operational Planner, organising whole school based activities, running PD and meetings around the science curriculum, keeping the schools Waste Wise title by attending PD and implementing a clean school initiative.
  • Mentor the year 6 student councillors and captains, aiding with the running of upper and lower school assemblies, daily announcements and guiding them leadership opportunities such as “Wacky Wednesdays” running music and dance during lunch on Wednesdays.
  • Organised and coached students to take part in The Speak Up Awards; public speaking competition from 2015 to 2020.
  • Appointed Math Curriculum Leader in 2021. This included creating the content for the Bertram Operational Planner, organising whole school based activities, running PD and meetings around the math curriculum. I researched a whole school based math program called Top 10 Math and implemented this into the school towards the end of 2021.

  • Lead the 5/6 Phase into a whole phase flexible and challenge-based learning environment in semester one, 2017. This involved taking the lead during collaborative planning and developmental stages (Term 4, 2016). Taking the lead in researching and writing submissions for flexible learning furniture for the 5/6 space, leading the phase with developing challenge based learning programs and supporting phase members during the implementation of learning programs.
  • Presented at TeachMeetWA: Flexible Learning Event. My collaborative teaching partner and I were invited to share our knowledge and experience of flexible learning environments with 70 plus teachers from across the state. This was a fantastic experience as it provided me with the opportunity to share and be inspired by other presenters.
  • Co-Presented ‘Creation Apps in the classroom’ to schools in the Kwinana district (K-Fed).
  • Opening my classroom to many TDS Technology ‘walk throughs’, inviting teachers from schools around WA to come and observe, learn and experience the technology I integrate in my teaching and the innovative learning environment I create.
  • Achieving Apple Teacher certification in 2017, and actively working towards and achieving Apple Distinguished Teacher accreditation 2021.
  • Played a key role in the creation and completion of the iBook submission that resulted in Bertram being named an Apple Distinguished School.
  • Key member of the ICT committee from 2015-2017. As a result of this I was part of many important decisions regarding ICT at Bertram Primary. It also allowed me to attend multiple professional development opportunities through Apple Education.
