Summary

I’m seeking to move out of labour hire and into a permanent role with a company where I can grow, learn new skills, and build a stable, long-term career. I’ve developed a strong interest in the asphalt industry and take real pride in understanding how quality work impacts the bigger picture. I’m eager to join a team that values its people, supports development, and offers the opportunity to grow within an industry I’m genuinely passionate about.

Work History

PQI Operator, Spotter, Lab and Field Technician

Protech
07.2025 - Current
  • Operated Precision Quality Indicator (PQI) machine to assess asphalt compaction levels by comparing bulk and maximum density values, ensuring air voids remained within target range to meet quality and conformance standards aligning with the project that Fulton Hogan and client had agreed upon
  • . Provided real-time feedback during placement across major infrastructure projects, including airports and roadways, and verified results against laboratory core data after each asphalt lift was completed.
  • During my time with Boral Asphalt I Performed laboratory testing on asphalt and construction materials to verify conformance with project specifications by analysing maximum density, bulk density, air voids, binder content, and moisture levels. Processed field core samples, asphalt mix, and aggregates using standard test methods and calibrated equipment to ensure accuracy. Results were used to confirm quality control across major infrastructure projects, with findings compared against field data (PQI) to support compaction verification and compliance reporting.
  • Acted as a spotter for Buttrose Earthmoving during sand dumping operations, ensuring safe truck movements and clear communication between operators in medium-risk work zones. Directed tip truck drivers to designated dump points using hand signals and two-way radios, maintaining safe distances from services, machinery, and personnel. Monitored ground conditions, flagged hazards, and ensured compliance with site safety protocols during all loading and unloading activities.
  • Conducted asphalt core sampling across road and airport projects to assess compaction, layer thickness, and material conformance. Used core drill machinery to extract samples safely and accurately, marking core locations and logging job-specific data such as lot numbers, depths, and GPS positions. Handled, labelled, and transported cores to the laboratory in line with QA protocols, supporting PQI offset calibration and validating field compaction results against laboratory-tested bulk density and air void data.
