My name is Tahlii, and I am completing my Intern Training Program in December 2024. I am a passionate and detail-oriented Intern Pharmacist seeking to apply my academic knowledge, clinical skills and positive attitude in a hospital setting as a Pharmacist.
Organisation and Prioritisation: I have improved my ability to balance work, intern training program, and personal commitments, demonstrating my organisational skills and dedication
Clinical knowledge: My understanding of medications, their indications, side effects, interactions, and appropriate administration has been honed through practical clinical work on the wards, translating theoretical knowledge into practical application
Attention to detail: Throughout my intern year by completing my 100-item dispensing audit and 100-item checking audit, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Effective communication: Throughout my intern year, I have demonstrated helpful communication skills with patients, healthcare providers, and other pharmacy staff by working in various roles within the department, showcasing my adaptability and versatility
Patient counselling: I have counselled patients on medication during admission, discharge, and in the Pharmacy I have provided patients with a CMI, discussed any potential side effects, and demonstrated the correct administration of medication
Legal and ethical compliance: Through the MPMR and SUSMP, I have increased my knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations, which pharmacists need to ensure legal and ethical practices This also includes confidentiality practices, where I ensure that any identifiable materials are disposed of correctly
Teamwork: Throughout my intern year, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with my department colleagues, including pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and administration staff I have been part of multidisciplinary teams on the wards, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals, providing comprehensive patient care
Problem-solving: I have consistently applied my problem-solving skills within the pharmacy, particularly during my dispensary rotations and when dispensing and checking medications These skills have been instrumental in ensuring optimal patient outcomes, reinforcing my commitment to patient care
Pharmacy software: Throughout my intern year, I have become proficient in using iPharmacy by dispensing medication, checking medication, and the inventory of pharmacy and ward stock I have also grasped The Viewer and eLMS to gather and enter accurate patient information, demonstrating my technical competence in the pharmacy setting
