  • Led a turnaround of the declining core business and new business development by focusing on educating physicians and employees about meniscus suturing through measures to encourage behavioral change and promoting meniscus preservation through the development of new techniques. Recruited a total of 1,600 doctors (1,400 registered as specialized doctors) to participate in the Medical Education Program. Provided training programs in 11 Districts for 3 hours, twice a year, and for 7 years to a total of 60 sales members. Grew product sales from ¥7.1M in 2012 to ¥19.8M in 2017.
  • Executed building competitive advantages against competitors while the company's global market share was dropping to around 30%. Focused on 3 main areas: building the necessary evidence, strengthening sales capacity, and developing products in Japan. Conducted a thorough verification of other companies' products in Japan, made recommendations to the Global Marketing team and the R&D team, and requested them to conduct experiments to prove the hypotheses. Successfully developed a product with a domestic manufacturer.
  • Identified 2 major business issues (competitive market environment by the growing number of competitors and the need to increase the number of surgeries in Japan by 60 times to catch up with the US). Evaluated improvement opportunities and initiated a digital marketing project in collaboration with external consultants and the APAC marketing team: surveying GPs and potential patients to optimize the number of surgeries based on a hypothesis-driven approach.
  • Developed and implemented sales strategies by districts while identifying room for improvement in the field as a Sales Specialist for western Japan, in addition to the Product Manager role. Enhanced the overall sales capacity by sharing advice during product training sessions and contributed to achieving the sales team goal of 2022 (knee-related products).
