• Responsible for the guidance/support/direction and general supervision of staff, students and volunteers working within the Childcare service.
• Moved in a direction that interests children; allow children to choose their learning and playing style, making safety the number one concern.
• Mentoring students on practical placement. Provide verbal and written feedback to aid reflective learning.
• Develop and implement a Children's Program (reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines). Write up the program, cooperating with staff and the Children's needs.
• In compliance with the Work Health and Safety Policy, ensure a safe environment for staff and children, with particular attention to children with anaphylaxis, allergies, and asthma.
• Ensure accurate records of accidents, incidents, injuries, illnesses and medication.
• Ensuring staff know current thinking and practice in early childhood education and service delivery.
• Liaise with families about the day-to-day programme and learning that has occurred.
• Co-operate and communicate effectively with parents about their child-care needs.
• Promote good parent/Centre relationships.
• Promote and maintain positive working relationships with other staff.
• Actively support and co-operate with other staff in their child-care duties.
