My role as a support worker varies from many different things it just depends on the participant and their requirements. I have been with many people who live with a range of different disabilities. These include: autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder , non verbal, pica and many more. Most days I do a lot of socialising in the community, this can range from going for walks to taking the participant to shopping centres or group activities.

While working in this role I originally started off as just full time working on the floor taking boxes off the belt. Then had a promotion for team leader, running my own area. This role included working both in the office and being on the floor. The area I worked in was the return logistics and I worked along with many of the major customers who had contracts with Startrack. Any items/ products that went missing or became damaged, I would reach out to the owner or business and see what they would want me to do with it. This included: fixing it, disposing or returning it back to the sender. The role also included me finding any missing freight or helping freight that had a damage label make its way back to the owner. I worked in this role for over a year then decided to drop down to a casual position. While being casual I would consolidate pallets and also drive a forklift unloading and loading trailers.

My role as a Traffic controller required me to do pedestrian watch and the stop/slow bat. I also had to implement road and traffic plans.

During the second lockdown that happened from Covid 19, I worked at the Hello Fresh warehouse for 2 months. In those 2 months within the second week I became a team leader. I was in charge of making sure all stock was filled, covering breaks and setting the area up during pre shift. After lockdown finished I decided to resign as my other job was allowed to run again since the restrictions were lifted.

Serving customers, running food out, stock take, cleaning tables and the kitchen area and also preparing and making dishes.

My main role for this job was serving customers and prepping the food. I worked on the registers and also did stock take for ingredients. With the food prep we would make all the pizzas for the day and get all the other items on the menu stocked up. Cleaning was also apart of this job and money handling too.

KFC was my first job and I started working here at 16. This job was like any other fast food place, roles included serving customers, cleaning and making food.
