• Check plans, drawings, and Bill of materials for accuracy of calculations.
• Ensure that all materials used, and work performed are in accordance with the specifications.
• Agree a price for materials and make cost-effective solutions and Filling Tender for the intended project.
• Manage, monitor, and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.
• Communicate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
• Carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and following up on the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors - this is site-specific and may not be the case on all projects.
• Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
• Observe the construction site and ensure that all safety norms and quality measures are being followed.
• Make sure that the project proceeds on time. Arrange for working overtime if the project is lagging.
• Look after the construction of roads, sewage, electricity backup, pavements, etc., in addition to actual building of structure.
• Survey the site and ensure that the land is leveled accurately and measured before placing the supporting rods.
• Ensure team compliance with all technical and safety standards.
• Analyze and interpret data to provide solutions for technical issues and queries (failures of equipment, obsolescence, etc).
• Assisting the team leader with internal and external reporting requirements.
• Identifying efficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Participation in team meetings, workshop attendance, and other training initiatives.
• Maintaining professional relationships with team members.
• Keeping up to date the technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
● Document Control ensuring that all working drawings are current for
supervisors and leading hands.
● Ensure schedules and marked-up drawings are received and distributed
to the steel fixing supervisor / leading hands.
● Submit technical queries (TQs) to the client for resolution.
● Attend internal and external project meetings.
● Monitor construction activities for compliance with specifications and
record details on the relevant checklists.
● Record details of quality issues requiring corrective or preventive action on an NCR and ensure actions required are assessed and then implemented.
● Inspection & Test Plan and document by utilizing our pre-pour/post-pour
checklist.
● File all project records in accordance with the Project Filing Register
including completion of the concrete register.
● Ensure that activities are progressively inspected, verified, and recorded.
● Develop skills and knowledge regarding materials utilized to maximize the efficiency of use within project construction methodology.
● Occasional attendance at client meetings.
● Ensure the client is notified on a timely basis of all upcoming client
inspections.
