Summary

I am an experienced teacher having taught in a many schools in and around Geraldton throughout my teaching career. I regularly reflect on my teaching practices and have developed and refined my skills as an accomplished classroom teacher.


My wide variety of roles as a teacher has developed my skills in working under pressure. It has developed greatly my confidence in teaching students from varying backgrounds in any year level. I have had to be very flexible within my career, adapting to sudden changes and interruptions as they arise. I am confident in my ability to teach high school students in any range of settings.


Teaching and reporting on several learning areas to a wide range of year levels has developed and refined my depth of knowledge of the curriculum as well as my organisation and time management skills, giving me great confidence as I move forward into new pathways in my career of teaching.


I have experience in working under pressure and in challenging situations and I believe that building positive relationships with students early and establishing routines is crucial to effective teaching and learning.


Technology is now an integral part of life and it is crucial that our students are taught how to integrate technology into their learning and in their lives. I am confident using various forms of technology and teaching all technologies subjects.


I provide a safe, rich and stimulating learning environment for students where they are engaged and motivated to learn. I have successfully created programs in conjunction with the implementation of the Australian Curriculum and utilise a range of assessment strategies to develop a reflective approach to my teaching.
