June 2023 - Jan 2024, Returned Winter June 2024 - Current
At Perisher, I worked both winter and summer seasons in two different roles. Both, in which I was operating large machinery. Winter's primary role was snow clearing. This involved operating both Snowcat BR300, Front End Loaders, Excavator, and Bobcat for smaller, tighter elevated areas. Duties also included helping the transport department in moving goods over snow within the resort and national park. Summer role mostly consisted of operating a 20-ton excavator for multiple projects. As well as assisting on trade-related projects, such as placing and welding pipe for snow guns, fencing, concreting, etc.
This year, I was offered an opportunity to return in a new role of Grooming. This involved a grave night shift. Operating a range of different models of snow cats. Pushing and tilling out snow in alpine mountains. This involved extreme natural terrain and weather conditions.
Feb 2024 - June 2024 (short-term contract)
At GSM, I was mainly working as a machine operator. Safely operating 3-ton and 20-ton excavators, and driving HR trucks. With some operations of a telehandler, when required for product movement. Competing SDS and JSA documents daily.
As well as assisting in hands-on concreting projects and labor. This was mostly based at Ampol Kurnell fuel refinery. This has assisted my familiarity with safety on high-risk civil sites.
Working at Manuka Gardens, my role was to organize and run bespoke landscapes, specializing in the finer detail landscaping and training apprentices.
I quickly moved up the company and the industry due to leadership and problem-solving skills. As well as my love for finer details, quality, and truly caring about the people I work with and alongside.
This has allowed our team to more than double in size in the past year. It has also made the company stand out in the industry for being a high-end landscape company.
At Canberra Clear, I worked with a small team focused on environmentally friendly landscapes. Machine work on excavators, bobcats, and mini diggers was a heavy part of the daily job. This is where I learned the majority of my landscape trade skills.
