Tourism & School Experience Officer

  • Managed the booking system for over 140,000 school children each year.
  • Developed and implemented return to Centre COVID-safe procedures for the safe return of school students to Questacon, during the post COVID period, which involved calling over 200 stakeholders and rebooking over 2000 groups.
  • Mentored junior staff members, helping them develop their skills and advance in their careers through succession training.
  • Established effective relationships with key Tourism stakeholders including tour operators, agents, cultural attractions and the National Capital Tourism Education project, resulting in increased collaboration opportunities such as the Mid-Winter's Night event with the National Library.
  • Developed commercial programs and activities to maximise revenue generated by group visits, this included the introduction of local school visits during off-peak times, resulting in a 50% increase in visitation during the month of December.
