- Managed day-to-day logistics operations, monitoring incoming deliveries and overseeing Inbound operations and monitoring cost of all receiving activities. A decrease of 20% in inbound labour cost due to improved productivity, Container unload was outsourced to SBM Logistics to improve labour cost and utilize employees in other areas of the business.
- Supervised team to ensure stock has been unloaded, sorted, processed into system and putaway within a 24 hours window. Improved putaway on time percentage to 100%.
- Inspected shipments for damages or discrepancies and reported any findings to purchasing team.
- Conducted regular safety meetings, orientations and training sessions for employees.
- Maintained records related to WHS compliance such as accident reports, safety inspection logs. Increase of 30% in safety reporting on a weekly basis
- Ensured that all workers are trained in proper lockout and tagout procedures prior to working on equipment.
- Prepared monthly safety performance reports for management review. 576 consecutive days from last Lost Time injury.
- Worked closely with Human Resources department regarding Workers' Compensation claims administration.
- Trained new and current employees on ways to reduce incidents and eliminate hazards.
- Instructed staffers during fire drills to provide awareness of proper evacuation routes and reporting techniques. Fire drill conducted with a evacuation completion time of 4:36 minutes with a total of 65+ employees onsite.
- Investigated employee accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
