• 2 Months as a hammerhand/trades assistant under Buildcore Construction building townhouses in Dunedin, NZ
• The main focus during this job was helping the main contractor on a concrete slab that needed to be finished before Christmas, there was a lot of specific detail and plan reading done on this job, along with a lot of installation of reinforcing steel, I also got the opportunity to do the concrete quantity estimation on this job.
• This job was a temporary job for me when I was coming out of Polytechnic.

• 2 Months as a hammerhand under Cook Brothers Dunedin - Commercial work on a pre existing building that was being fitted out as a new trade school
• A big focuss was put on

-Reinforcing steel installation and creation

-Internal wall timber framing

-Demolition of internal timber framing and linings

• Holiday work Customer service in ice-cream shop, quick summer job, making and serving ice creams to customers

• Completed 2 years of building work
• New build subdivision
• All aspects of building from foundation to completion including

-Plan reading and interpretation

-Concrete and reinforcing installation

-Timber frame, truss building and installation

-Internal lining and insulation installation

-External building wrapping and cladding installation

-Landscaping and excavation works

-Formwork creation and installation

-External and internal joinery installation

-Takeoffs in certain materials such as GIB lining, rondo ceiling battens, James Hardie soffit, etc.

-Learning and understanding the importance of communication between main and subcontractors

-The different components of bracing and reinforcement in a residential build.

-Working on single story NZS3604 houses

• All aspects of stock management, milking and use of motorbikes and ATVs

• After school and weekend work Shelf stacking and checkout customer service
