As a former professional cricketer, I possess a good understanding of the sports and fitness industry. Throughout my 8 year professional career in England and New Zealand, I achieved success by demonstrating a commitment to excellence through leadership, rigorous training and strategic thinking culminating in winning the first domestic title with Glamorgan County Cricket Club in 17 years in 2021. During my time as a player I gained valuable work experience outside the world of sports, which has allowed me to cultivate a diverse skill set and a broad perspective. These experience's helped within the cricket environment with a particular focus on athlete development across various ages and in turn helped achieve shared visions and goals within cricket and in areas outside of cricket.
My time as a university student doing a Sports Science degree further enhanced my critical thinking and analytical abilities enabling me to approach challenges methodically and strategically. I studied with a particular interest in sports psychology, It was here alongside studying full time where I honed my leadership qualities as captain of the Cardiff MCCU cricket team leading them to 2 national final wins at Lords cricket ground. Hereafter as a coach/mentor, I draw on my years of experience as a player as well as the lessons I learned in the classroom, to help players I work with excel on and off the field. As a team player, I understand the value of collaboration and communication, and I thrive in pressurised environments that require dedication, perseverance, and a strong work ethic which I apply to all areas of my life. In addition to my expertise in sport, I am a quick learner and am always eager to acquire new skills, qualifications and knowledge. I am confident that my experience as an ex professional athlete and now Director of Cricket, as well as my diverse background in sport education has equipped me with the drive, resilience, and determination necessary to succeed in any endeavour.
