musician

When I'm not working with coffee my main interest is music. I am a highly capable singer, saxophonist, guitarist and bass player I have been a musician for over 40 years. I compose, perform and record my own music, have been played on TV and radio and have toured Australia a number of times with numerous bands. I have facilitated songwriting workshops and have worked with theatre and film as a composer and performer. I am a co-founder and the musical director of “MUSIC FOR TREES” a not for profit environmental and music based organization. I co-own "GRAND DAYS" a vintage fashion book and record store in Sydney and I am also an avid reader and record collector. Cycling, swimming, bushwalking, cooking and spending time with friends and family round out my time.

Additional Information

I embarked upon my coffee journey aged 10 when i started making cappuccino at home on my Atomic Espresso machine. I have been at the coalface of the boom of the Australian Specialty Coffee Industry and have had the good fortunate to work alongside many of the industry's iconic and influential players.

My real passion in this industry though is teaching. I love helping my students learn and develop and get a real thrill from their success. I see teaching as my vocation and have devoted my career to improving my capacity to help aspiring coffee professionals fulfill their dreams.
