I met up with my student on a regular basis and devised a weekly plan to keep him focused on the tasks he needed to complete. I received monthly feedback on how the pupil progressed with the results being an end of the year improvement, positive feedback from the students' parents and teachers alike. My drive to develop my own skills whilst helping others has transferred into my career as I have performance managed certain trades.
- Fortem Trainee Challenge: In 2020, I co-lead a trainee challenge to improve a community centre in Chesterfield. With fundraising as the start of the project, we saw this through to a complete refurbishment of the centre, including new windows and door to help with heating bills, a disabled ramp to help provide access, a new heating system, kitchen, bathroom, new fencing around the car park to give it some security, new soffits and fascias, plated flower beds and planting around the garden.
