I was employed in the hospitality industry, acting as a team leader at an events venue. I was responsible for leading a team of 3 to 5 other staff members and have developed strong leadership qualities. I was also able to develop my communications skills in my interaction with guests, providing excellent customer service to ensure a pleasurable experience for event attendees.
This involved activities such as media monitoring, identifying misinformation on social media, researching, verifying information and all other aspects of fact-checking. This has given me invaluable experience working with accomplished professionals from the journalism industry. In particular, I was able to build skills such as reader engagement, networking and monitoring of social media.
I was employed by Melbourne Health as a Project Support Officer for the recent launch of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) which was delivered across three hospitals - The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital and The Peter McCallum Cancer Centre. I was involved with deploying the new technology (such as printers, computers and other devices) across each ward of the Royal Melbourne Hospital before then conducting the testing of these devices..
