I have been in the mining maintenance sector for over 14 years beginning in the QLD metallurgical coal industry and now currently the Iron Ore industry. I have had the opportunity to develop my career with the leaders in this field including BHP/BMA, Anglo American, Peabody, Glencore and now currently Rio Tinto. With a military background and extensive mining experience I have a proven track record in team leadership and achieving required targets. I am passionate about mentoring my team to further develop their skills in hazard analysis, risk control and professional tradesmanship. I demonstrate care and respect for my team and pride myself on being trustworthy and approachable. My Military experience has taught me that true leadership comes from leading by example and ensuring your team members are acknowledged for their efforts.   • In 2019 I took the opportunity to expand my experience within the mining maintenance sector by transitioning from metallurgical coal to iron ore with Rio Tinto
  • I started my employment as a Diesel mechanic, but in August of 2020 I was asked to step into the maintenance coordinator role permanently
  • I have been acting in the upervisor role for the past 12 Months
  • Generated reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Increased team productivity by implementing efficient workflows and setting clear expectations for staff members.
  • Maintained compliance with company policies, objectives, and communication goals.
  • Evaluated employee performance and coached and trained to improve weak areas.
  • I continue to drive improvements within the MEM department with implementing new tooling and safety procedures to site and adaptation of current work practices
  • This has been recognised by my peers on multiple occasions by being awarded the Site High 5/ Make a difference award on numerous occasions.

  • In my time with DAC Mining Services I have provided supervisor and maintenance services to BHP/BMA, Anglo America, Glencore and Peabody Sites.

  • During my time at Hasting Deering, I was responsible for the assembly of all new Caterpillar equipment, and the fault finding, diagnosing and repair of equipment as part of the field service team
  • This time allowed me to gain invaluable experience with the entire Caterpillar equipment portfolio and undergo vital training on Particular machines and Caterpillar operating systems
  • I was also involved with the hydraulic team and engineers to develop a hydraulic anti-drop kit to be fitted to the boom of machines used for lifting and crane work
  • This kit which could be installed by local dealers were a legislative requirement to prevent the uncontrolled fall of a load in the event of a hydraulic hose failure.
  • Ensured timely completion of work orders by managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality control.
  • Reduced downtime for clients by quickly identifying root causes of mechanical problems and implementing solutions effectively.

  • Conduct the maintenance and repairs on a wide range of military vehicles from Mercedes Unimogs, Mack trucks and various plant equipment through to armoured personnel carriers, Tanks and land mine sweeping vehicles
  • This experience has taught me to work both as an integral part of a team, while still having the ability to work autonomously when the situation required
  • During my posting to the 1st Combat Engineers Regiment in Darwin, I was responsible for ensuring all equipment was 'combat ready' for deployment
  • My team also assembled and prepared the equipment for Operation Sumatra Assist - the humanitarian effort to the Indonesian island of Banda Aceh after the 2004 Tsunami.
