Coming back into the workforce after so many years has been very challenging but exciting at the same time. Most of my life after high school I did part time work as a receptionist for my aunties business but I have always been a stay home mother to my 4 children while running my own little side hustle from the comfort of my home. I did catering for birthdays, weddings and private events. Kept myself busy while being at home with 4 children. Now that my oldest is 17 years old I’m back in the workforce working for Selau Faasii a security company called Mavis security as a part time security guard from Friday and Saturday. I completed my Security course early this year 2024 so working part time has allowed me to gain more skill and background experience working as a security guard. The reason I decided on this profession is because I have good customer service due to years of interacting with clients when I was catering. I can interact with people in a changing environment. I also feel that more female are needed in this industry to keep people safe and calm. I don’t have a long list of previous employments but I truly believe that home is your first teacher, schooling, employment and work experience. I am the type of person who is always willing to learn new skill. I don’t believe in giving up easily when things get too hard. I am easy going, easy to approach and I work well with people.
