- I have been self-employed for the past 24 years.
- In this time I managed contracts as a Unit Manager in the film industry with tasks such as employing and managing a team to conduct location and logistics field operations.
- The last contract I ran was for 3 1/2 years for a company called Empire film services.
- I ran their contract for the TV show Home and Away channel 7. We lost the continuing contract due to a new tender.
- During this time of self employment in the film industry, I had small businesses on the side, such as owning my own 25 seater bus, in which I did recce/reconnaissance for the film industry. The task was generally driving heads of department around to do surveys for upcoming shoots
- As a Unit manager my day to day tasks and operations consisted of the below.
- Maintaining daily maintenance of film trucks and generators. Checking, fuel, oil and water, etc.
