I managed two SIL homes in the Sunshine Coast region, consisting of 7 participants and 15 staff.
My duties include maintaining participants' records, including writing support plans, health management plans, risk assessments, reporting, and investigating incidents. Liaising with families, support coordinators, and other key stakeholders to develop person-centered supports, working with behavior practitioners to develop a positive behavior support plan, organizing in-home training, and maintaining training records. Work within the NCIS code of conduct to ensure person-centered support within the SIL home, and work with other NDIS support services to ensure continuity for our participants.
Support the rostering team to maintain staff rosters and ensure we stay within budget.
Support staff should reach their goals, maintain healthy relationships with each other, and demonstrate person-centered support.
I have been involved in staff recruitment, holding interviews, onboarding, and monthly staff meetings, both 1-on-1 and team meetings.
I have experience dealing with challenging behaviors in both staff and participants.
