After completing qualification of Ageing Support, I joined Opal Age Care in 2019, I have now 3 years experience of providing high quality of care for elderly patients skilled at working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Due to health issues after graduated Diploma of Nursing in 2022, I has diagnosed with breast cancer I had to stop everything to get treatment I suffered through 2 years of long-term treatment.
Now I'm back to normal, and I'm still determined to make my childhood dream come true: to become a good nurse.
Description of responsibilities
- Assisting patients with grooming, toileting, showering, dressing, and eating.
- Helping patients move safely, using equipments includes devices like hoists, transfer boards, slide sheets, standing hoists, Sara Stedy, repositioning bed-bound patients, and transferring them to wheelchairs/bed.
- Providing emotional support, life-styles activity and assisting with rehabilitation exercises.
- Taking and documenting vital signs temperature, blood levels, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels, bowel chart, assisting and monitoring with catheter bag and reporting any changes to nursing staff.
- Working as part of the health care team, following care plans, and communicating effectively with nurses, physio, and doctors.
- Keeping patients room clean, making beds, restocking supplies, and adhering to infection control.
