• Founding editor and creator of Kidsnews.com.au, a national children's digital-only news site aimed at educating the next generation through daily news linked directly to the curriculum while improving literacy standards. Reached 10 million+ page views per year with schools in every state and overseas.
• Devised and launched digital-only Prime Minister's Spelling Bee backed by Scott Morrison and then Anthony Albanese with 70,000 students taking part.

• Reporting directly to the Editors of the Herald Sun and Sunday Herald Sun, was responsible for content delivery across all platforms specifically in relation to lifestyle – entertainment, arts, fashion and food. Managed 20-plus writers through a challenging period of newsroom transformation working to a 24-hour, seven-day news cycle. Also worked closely with the Editorial Partnerships team to maintain relationships, deliver event-specific content and assist in bringing in new relevant financial and editorial partnerships.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Collaborating to launch the Delicious 100 in Victoria, a comprehensive review of the top 100 restaurants in glossy magazine and digital executions including reader rankings.

• Responsible for seamless editorial and commercial integration for sports content across major events including Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup and Australian Open tennis.

• Responsible for the operation of News Corp Australia’s digital and social media sport offering across five metropolitan and 7 regional mastheads plus news.com.au
• Increased traffic overall by 33% and worked with sales to commericalise products.
• Planned and executed content for national and international sporting events, including sponsor integration and creative content partnerships with all major Australian sporting federations.

• Increased Unique Audience to 37% of the total Australian digital sports market in first 12 months of operation.
• Managing editor for 2012 London Olympics coverage for all of News Corporation leading a team of 32, plus Rugby World Cup, Summer of Cricket, Summer of Tennis.

• Reporting directly to the Editor to support content delivery across all facets and platforms of the Sunday Herald Sun – news, sport, business, property, lifestyle and features.

• Responsible for 202 staff across editorial in 16 offices and 32 mastheads across suburban Melbourne
• Member of the executive team responsible for the overall strategy for Leader Community Newspapers
• Contributed to meeting annual $50 million budget requirements

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Led the editorial team through the difficult reporting of 2008's Black Saturday bushfires both on the ground reporting live during the inferno and in the aftermath as they reported on the trauma and tragedies within their readership areas. Worked closely with HR to ensure the wellbeing of all staff involved.
• Devised and published a limited edition Black Saturday liftout with all funds raised ($250,000) going to Victorian firefighters.
• Devised, created and launched the Feed Melbourne Appeal (which later became the national Feed Appeal) with charity FareShare to raise money for Victorian food relief agencies to feed those in need. Inaugural year raised $250,000. Over its lifetime, it raised more than $10 million.

• Led 52 sports writers and photographers to maintain Herald Sun's position as Australia's no.1 sports provider in print and digital, in a hugely-competitive market, especially around AFL coverage.
