Tony Smith

• My family and I relocated to Port Hedland in Western Australia.
  I worked in the Vehicle Maintenance Workshop Service repairing a variety of equipment that maintains the Rail Line including Light Vehicles, Trucks, Graders, Wheel Loaders and small equipment like Gensets, Chainsaws and rail grinders.
  I transferred to the Locomotive Overhaul Shop where I helped Maintain 200 BHP Locomotives.
  Duties include Servicing and scheduled Maintenance.
  I was a team leader for a project called the 28K, this is a Major repair to the Locomotive where all rotable parts are replaced including the Engine, Generator, Compressor and all pneumatic components over a 2-week period.
  The last 5 years working for BHP I relocated back to Swan Hill as a FIFO position was offered to me in the Locomotive Service Shop as well as the relief Team Leader (Mechanical) position.
  This position was much the same as the Loco Overhaul Shop except it is FIFO only.
  As Team Leader I work with Supervisors and Lead the Toolbox meetings and supervised the crew over the 12 hour shift.

• Diagnosis, Servicing and Repair of Earth moving equipment within the Mining sector.
  Working on various machines and manufactures including Cat, Hitachi, Komatsu, Volvo, Kenworth, Mack and many more.
  Inducted and trained to access mining companies like BHP, Rio Tinto, FMG and Santos
• FIFO roll on a 2&1 roster

*Using my vast Industry experience I helped guide, educate and train High School students to achieve a Certificate 1 in Automotive and Apprentices to achieve Certificate 3 in Automotive.Conducted New Holland Training Balers and Tractors

• Diagnosis, Servicing and Repairs on John Deere and New Holland agriculture equipment.
  Carried out Field Service and Breakdowns
  Conducted New Holland Training Balers and Tractors

• Diagnosis, Repairs and servicing of all CASE IH Agricultural equipment.
  Carried out Field service and breakdowns across Northern Victoria and Southern NSW.
  Liaised with customers and other Case Dealers.
  Completed Case IH training on Engines and Tractors including QuadTrac.

• Completed Apprenticeship.
  Specialised in all Cummins Engines in various machinery.
  Liaising with customers, Fault Finding, Troubleshooting, Parts Ordering and Repairs
  Field Service all over Northern Victoria/Southern NSW to the SA border.
  Completed Cummins inhouse training on most Engine models.
  Had security clearance to work on Telstra Gensets.
