I was responsible for working with Independent Schools in South Australia to raise the outcomes of literacy and numeracy within each school. This involved meeting with and building relatinships with the Principal and Key Literacy or Numeracy Teacher to develop whole school literacy or numeracy plans and developing their capacity as a coach within their school. This included using data to inform teaching and learning plans, in-class coaching of classroom teachers and facilitating professional learning in both pedagogy and literacy or numeracy content. The projects I contributed to involved collaboration across all sectors of education in South Australia.

Responsible for planning, delivering, assessing and evaluating curriculum in each of the 8 key learning areas using the Australian Curriculum and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. I effectively collected, analysed and used data to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of the students in my class. My work and research in the area of Literacy and ICTs has been published in several magazines including ALEA’s Practically Primary, ‘Teacher’ Magazine, ASLA’s ‘Access’ magazine and a PETAA paper. I have also won 2 Primary Maths Association awards for outstanding reflective writing in mathematics, which was also published in their magazine.
