State Performance Lead

  • As a State Performance Lead, I work alongside the State Manager to ensure we have the best Centre Directors in the center, every day.
  • I work across all centres in the State alongside my fellow State Performance Lead to form a holistic view of the performance, understanding the unique situations, team, and leadership capabilities.
  • I work alongside my network to identify when a center's performance is off course, connect, gather information, and assist in course correction.
  • I work in partnership with expert services, such as Coaching Lead, CPC, Practice, Teaching and Learning, Talent Acquisition, and Inclusion. Included in this are expert services at a national level.
  • I hold the system line manager and performance management responsibilities to the assigned cohort of Centre Directors.
  • Holding accountability through strong, supportive relationships, empowering Centre Directors to influence and drive through their Self Leadership shadow.
  • Work in a Centre-Led model within the Goodstart network, influencing solution-focused outcomes and thriving measures for exceeding.
  • My role is to have a deep understanding of the center performance KPIs and center data to pose curiosity, ensure state and national resources are available, and promptly coach when necessary to assist in performance uplift.
  • I hold accountability and pulse check on the viability of the Quality Improvement Plan in centers, ensuring it is a live working document that is fit for purpose and meets the needs of the center.
  • I work closely with the CSO members, formally and informally, to gain insights and observations through many tools held in the network - CPC, Performance review material, weekly analysis of the labor, attendance figures, inclusion, voices surveys, and the occupancy of centers to establish the level of support to centers. This will translate into Intensive, Target, Centre-Led, or Watch model of support to assist in course correction.
  • I work alongside and hold accountability in the WA State Plan 2024. Under this model, I assist the State Manager in meeting the target and deliverable within the Plan, measuring the achievements, course correction, and/or pivot that is required for the State.
  • I work alongside our People Partner, State, and National to assist Centre Directors in holding their teams accountable to their job description, our policies and procedures, and Goodstart's values and mission.
  • I work within the Gallup model to understand my own professional leadership and the network of people I work alongside to understand strengths. This allows me to understand the strengths, challenges, and barriers that may flex my approach and navigate positive outcomes consistently with reflective practice.
  • I recognize and respond to safety concerns, environmental issues, and influence a standard within Goodstart.
  • I show zero tolerance for child harm and endeavor to protect children, being a child safe advocate and mandatory reporter.

  • I supported and coached the center directors to be empowered, informed, innovative, adaptive, and accountable leaders.
  • I encouraged and held accountability, measuring progress and pulse checking the Quality Improvement Plan in centers, verifying it as a live working document.
  • I met with the center director on rhythms that were appropriate for the level of coaching they received: one loop, two loop, three loop coaching. This was determined by the model surrounding the center; intensive, target, or center led.
  • I empowered the center director to learn the tools and develop their capabilities through self-reflection, curiosity, and unpacking of their leadership shadow.
  • I led with coaching with accountability, holding a standard of commitment to actions, goals, and forecasting the possible planned and purposeful outcomes.
  • I measured the center director through professional developments, actively listening, surveys, and reflection; when appropriate, entering another relationship and advising support to course correct.
  • I encouraged and ensured center directors were being planned and purposeful, stretching capabilities and building further on mindset changes; coaching the leader, the person first.
  • I coached with several resources and tools within Goodstart, the CPC, scorecards shared by centre directors, mindset documents, ECD, Maslow's hierarchy, and many more to navigate resources that individually meet the needs of the coachee.
  • I built a transparent and reciprocal relationship with my coachees to deepen my knowledge, regularly talent mapping and succession planning within the MyGrowth check-in document, encouraging growth.
  • In doing the above, my responsibility was to actively build on my professional capability, participating in debriefing, regularly being coached in cohorts with team members, contributing to peer groups, and stretching my learning with different media and research materials. I undertook the six-month coaching modules and completed.
