I have been working within the industry for almost a decade. During that time I have always wanted to expand my skills and scope of practice, leading me to head back to university.
My study, for the most part is now coming to a close and I am looking to move back to my beloved Victoria.
I am seeking a practice that has a passion for excellence. I often stand out given my above average work ethic and my obsession with patient care, a phenomenon that is often lost.
Many new grads are seeking mentorship, this is not at the forefront of my search, as I will endeavour to embark on as much CPD as possible. Being in a place where open clinical discussion can take place however is of great importance to myself as I believe you can learn so much from your colleagues.
I currently work as an Oral Health Therapist in a general dental practice. I work autonomously carrying out examinations and maintenance work for a range of ages. I work within the scope of an Oral Health Therapist and refer to internal dentists when required.
I also construct a lot of mouthguards, retainers and splints in the in house lab.
Worked under the supervision of the dentists at the practice. Mainly carried out the hygiene maintenance and paediatric patients during my time here. Was also exposed to some orthodontic treatment and sleep dentistry.
Worked as a hygiene room, with the clinical lead coming in for the examinations. Independently saw children for dental therapy (restorative work).
Worked in the in house lab making suckdown appliances.
As spreading health education is a priority of mine, I endeavoured to improve my cooking skills. This sparked a new passion of mine to go along with other facets of my life where I strive to achieve well rounded and holistic health.
