Babcock NZ is responsible for the Maintenance Repair Overhaul & Engineering ( MRO&E) activities of the NZ navy fleet. As a trade assistant I was responsible for undertaking activities to help the trade staff. These jobs included setting up ventilation systems throughout the entire navy ship, assisting in confined space work and supervising when hot work was being done. Along with clean up and gas detection sentry.

• Confined space entries
• Assisted with hot work procedures, such as welding
• Set up ventilation systems throughout the entire Navy ship
• Cleaning and general maintenance of the ships tanks

C3 provides stevedoring services at Ports of Auckland, loading and unloading cargo from international vessels. This role is shift based working across 4 – 12 hr shifts.
