  • During my time as a boilermakers apprentice, whilst the availability of work at our local workshop would slow down, I would head out to the bush with the boss to his family farm where I would assist him in completing various jobs such as mustering sheep and goats on both 2 and 4 wheeled motorbikes, drafting off sheep and goats onto trucks for sale purposes, I would assist in the tasks of drafting, marking, drenching and neutering sheep, I would be solely tasked to assist one shearer on an annual basis by penning the sheep into the shed, picking up and throwing fleeces and cleaning the board for the shearer, while also dressing the fleeces and them proceeding to press the fleeces into bales to prepare for sale.
  • Whilst working out on the property I assisted In the clearing of land operating a D9 dozer, and operating a John Deere tractor for carting a fencing trailer, aswell as operating an IT loader to load and cart fencing materials around the property.
  • I assisted in the installation of ringlock fencing around the perimeter of the property and Included paddocks over a span of 3 months, with tasks including using an air powered dolly to install star posts, running out both plain and barbed wires as well as running out, standing and straining of ringlock fencing followed by using an air powered clip gun to clip join the ringlock fence to the plain wire.

  • Trained on the correct and safe process of removing a tyre off a vehicle and correctly replacing the tyre or repairing the tyre and correctly re-installing the tyre onto the vehicle.
  • Learnt how to correctly complete a wheel alignment on multiple models of cars, and was taught and developed a full understanding on how road camber will affect a cars wheel alignment and how to correctly adjust a car's steering alignment to minimise vehicle wandering, I was also trained on the importance of ensuring all wheel alignments are done both correctly and safely.
