- Role: Tasman Chemical Coordinator/ Purchasing Specialist (category-chemicals)
- Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders (operators, engineers, management), suppliers and customers
- Maintain strong relationships & liaise with parties - to obtain DIFOT/JIT stocks for uninterrupted mill production
- Handle customer complaints facilitate investigation work, report and implement necessary actions (creative trouble-shooting & problem solving)
- Conduct Business Review & Development Sessions (BRADS); providing a forum for suppliers & stakeholders to meet & discuss issues, provide feedback on level of service, identify areas of improvement etc..
- Seek opportunity for product improvement to reduce budget costs whilst maintaining quality standards
- Provide accurate data & prepare reports to category managers & operations
- Implement & review quality systems, product standards, procedural changes (related to product delivery, handling, & storage) to minimize quality issues & mitigate risks involved
- Document, monitor & maintain policy standards & product specifications
- Facilitate routine testing of samples: track & record results, interpret & analyze data, communicate/report to Category managers & operations of any changes
- Conduct, participate & assist on site audit processes
- Manage on-site chemical inventory to ensure uninterrupted production - Inventory control
- Analyze market performances for raw/commodity material & sales products - advice lead team on maximizing main-stream plant production while avoiding extra costs
- Manage, coordinate, schedule & authorize sales chemicals
- Manage/facilitate project work on process improvement trials on-site & report
- Coordinate site Sales & Operations Plan for sales chemicals
- Facilitate & authorize spot sourcing of chemicals, (locally & internationally)-Proven ability to build & maintain excellent relationships with vendors & customers
- Prepare annual budgets for chemicals and other costs related to material improvements
- Present and review chemicals (sales & production) forecasts, track chemicals costs (usages) against budget & prepare reports to finance team and senior management
- Facilitate & authorize end-of-month supplier invoicing - provide reports, clarify PO's generated for chemicals & services, identify accurate cost centers
- Facilitate & conduct HSNO & HAZCHEM signage audits on-site and provide recommendations
- Assistance to spill response - environment risk mitigation, investigate & provide recommendations/action
- Customer/supplier awareness on site policies, PPE rules & regulations
- Conduct site specific driver inductions for chemicals carrier groups/transport providers
- Identify, organize/facilitate relevant training for chemical awareness, (approved) handling, etc..
