• Ensure implementation of Local HSE Laws and Sanofi Global requirements at all manufacturing sites including Solids, Sterile, Liquid, Haemaccel & Claforan plant.
• Responsible to support and perform Risk Assessment including Workplace Risk Assessment, Project Risk Assessment and Construction Risk Assessment.
• Support and Conduct investigation for unsafe act and investigate incidents at site in case of near miss, accident, or incident. Report incidents and accidents with management/ Safety committee immediately.
• Ensure the implementation of all HSE programs i.e. Behavioural Observations, Managerial Safety Visits, etc. keep follow-ups of the progress of programs.
• Ensure Corrective actions and preventive actions are completed timely and root causes are eliminated.
• Support HSE manager to achieve zero incidents/ accidents at site through continuous monitoring of processes and site visits and risk assessments.
• Manage Medical Centre activities including annual medical surveillance
• Ensure Managerial Safety Visits as per target and closure of observations on given closure timeline.
• Ensure that non-conformances are reported, and root cause analysis should be performed to resolve them on target date.
• Conduct In-house Trainings and external training as per local and global requirements.
• In support of HSE Manager, participate in all old and new projects with project team to provide guidance regarding Health and Safety during change management.
• Develop & execute regular drills as per the Emergency Preparedness Calendar.
• Lead and manage HSE Committee at site to ensure compliance at floor level.
• Oversee the implementation of contractor safety by engineering department during contractor activities in existing facilities and new projects.
• Support HSE team during ISO Audits (ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018), evaluate the non-conformances through root cause analysis and suggests CAPAs for closure of observations.
• Organize & lead HSE committee meetings to review performance.
• Develop and Implement HSE SOPs at Site.
• Drive the positive change in HSE culture of the site through awareness programs and rewarding the safety champions in different departments.
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, Lock Out/ Tag Out, Safe Work Practices and PPEs to drive health and safety program of the site.
• Provide support in planning and execution of new initiatives at site.

Achievements:

• Successfully concluded 2nd Surveillance Audit of ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 with zero Major NC.
• Initiated Online Behavioural Observation Program to reduce the use of paper usage.
• Initiated the globally derived program on site stated as “Stop, Think and Act”

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct Risk assessment of ongoing and upcoming projects and multiple engineering jobs, defining risk regarding the activities, proposing and implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Prepare construction safety plan (CSP) for each project which includes the Scope of project, Pre-Start Health and Safety planning, Making Risk register to ensure sustainability during project execution, Safety Schedule, responsibilities of concern persons regarding implementation of Health and Safety
• Implementation of Environment Health and Safety procedures in compliance GSK GES standards as well as local legal requirements
• Preparation of Method Statements for the project activities and engineering jobs so the activities can be conducted in safe manner
• Prepare, Ensure and adhere GSK Permit to Work (PTW) Procedure for all the project and engineering activities
• Prepare and facilitate engineering and EHS department for L1, L2 and L3 Audits in accordance with GSK GES (Global Engineering Standards) and SG (Safety Guidelines)
• Provide EHS induction trainings to Contractors and Visitors at Site
• Conduct TBTs and ensure that the full compliance of EHS controls is in place before start of projects activities
• Prepare and maintain Project EHS boards and Risk register of each project
• Prepare safety schedule and tracking of its adherence
• Maintain construction performance notice board (CPNB), record near miss and first aid

Engineering Compliance:

• Propose corrective actions, preventive actions (CAPAs), assign responsibilities and follow-up for their completion and adherence
• Address the EHS violations and mZAPs (Zero accident promotion) regarding project activities and take interim, preventive and corrective measures
• Prepare and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) report for any incident occur at Site

Plan its recovery method and close CAPAs before defined deadlines

Other Responsibilities

• Prepare User Requirement Briefs (URB) for upcoming projects
• Inquiry and Procurement of required jobs, equipment and activities after selection of feasible contractors/ vendors

• Certificate Awarded by Site Director for successful installation of Panadol Syrup and Drops Manufacturing Suite and Packaging Line at Site

• Conducted Audits on Health, Safety & Environment in different production areas as per schedule in accordance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
• Participate and facilitate in 3P audits for Higg Index, ZDHC protocols, ISO and others as per clients requirements
• Visit to the production floors to highlight day to day issues against the standards and customer's code of conduct and work on the solutions to fix the issues
• To conduct regular Health & Safety Committee Meetings and ensure that every member attend these meetings
• Preparation of all the records as per requirements including minutes of meetings, standard operating procedures, gate passes and other documentation where applicable
• To conduct trainings on Chemicals, Solid Waste Management, Environment and other specific training as needed
• To adopt work practices that is safe and environment friendly
• To keep the records of all documents concern with work
• To co-ordinate with relevant In-charges, Staff & Workers regarding implementation of EHS culture in production areas.

• Ensured full compliance of Hospital Waste Management as per SEPA act 2014
