During my internship at Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) in the Electrical & Instrumentation section of the Maintenance Department, I gained hands-on experience in critical aspects of power plant operations, refinery processes, and electrical system maintenance.
Electrical Systems: Learned about motors (synchronous/induction), transformers, protection devices (fuses, circuit breakers, relays), and grid station components (132 kV to 11 kV transformation).
Power Plant Operations: Explored power plants, including their diesel/FFO-fueled engines, alternators, and synchronization with the grid.
Safety & Maintenance: Practiced testing equipment (PTs, CTs), adhered to safety protocols, and participated in troubleshooting under supervision.
