Accomplishments

  • Advanced process Controllers in Vacuum Gas Oil Hydro treating Unit in heater section, reactor section and fractionation section, where the total financial benefits were estimated to be 1.76 million usd/annum. This is mainly from Amine circulation reduction, fuel gas consumption reduction and steam consumption reduction. Apart from financial benefits, APC Implementation has reduced the operational fluctuations & helped to bring more steadiness into the system which is an effect of reduced standard deviation in parameters.
  • Controllers were implemented In Delayed Coker Unit in Fractionator, heaters & gas concentration section, where total financial benefits were 6.21 million usd/ annum based majorly on Diesel component maximization along with steam & power reduction. Moreover, process upsets during drum changeover operation has drastically come down as separate logic was in built in APC to take care of process upsets during the period.
  • Controllers in Petro Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit in Propylene Recovery unit, Reactor regeneration section, Gas concentration section and fractionation section. Financial benefits were calculated to 1.2 million usd/ annum by the way of utility reduction and propylene giveaway minimization.
  • My work for Delayed Coker Unit, VGOHDT & PFCCU have been published in India’s Centre for High Technology Forum.
  • Automatic reports and alerts were generated to monitor the performance of all controllers. This has highly improved the Uptime & utilization of the Controllers.
  • Responsible for Contract Safety Management(CSM) element in Process Safety Management in Crude distillation Unit & Aromatic Recovery Unit where contract employee safety was improved by 76%.
  • Responsible for Work Permit system in Process Safety Management in Crude distillation Unit, which indicates the adherence to work permit system, was improved to 91%.
  • Got gold bravo from manager for successful completion of a project Factory Acceptance Test.
