This was a fabulous job that required so many skills, firstly being Safety and Security of the aircraft, fellow team members and the customer. Requiring a high level of situational awareness and multi - tasking, along with efficiency in all aspects of ensuring on time performance and to lead a team by example, ensuring a safe, comfortable and pleasurable flight for all crew. Communication skills along with an ability to multi task and problem solve was a daily requirement. Along with ability to defuse, negotiate and manage conflict's with empathy and a non judgemental calmness. A true understanding of following and keeping up knowledge of company standard operating procedures, new systems and emergency procedures and being a consistent reliable healthy and fit employee that respects the requirements of the role and rostered duties.

I worked many facets with this Cairns base adventure company, trained in Outdoor Ed and was trained within the company's internal training course as a Whitewater Rafting Guide, Sea Kayak and Mountain Hiking Guide. This role required a high level of safety, multi skilled communications on all level, strength, and a sense of fun braveness to deal with all aspects of risk factors of adventure activities.

The bosses poached me to work in the Marketing department, to assist with local sales and marketing with true knowledge of both the adventure side of being a guide myself and using both my communication skills personality and ability for office work and reporting. I worked my way up to Marketing Manager with staff of 4 dealing with all aspects of the companies marketing of Rafting, Ballooning, Sea kayaking and Fitzroy Island. I thrived in this role increasing profits and customer numbers in all department areas.
