Work as part of a team ,exactly the same job description as previously described with my other employers
Introducing young people into the shearing industry , theory in class room, hands on training at work place, showing and explaining the procedures and importance of this employment, aswell as health and safety awares
Also in shed training for level 1 - 4 senior level ,aswell as theory training for certificates
I was also involved with Straight to work courses, where we worked with Winz New Zealand ,to get kids who were on the dole , and introduce them to our industry, which was a great success , and many of these youth stayed and are still employed and are now woolhandlers ,shearers and woolclassing
I have been working as a woolhandler , woolclasser for 36 years and have shorn a few sheep over the years
Our industry is slowly but surely declining ,for many reasons and at present with our employer work has come to a complete halt.
However sad and worrying this is, i am interested in finding employment in a different industry
Im a fit fast and switched on worker, im used to working in a team enviroment and have been a team leader
These days im keen to just be part of a team and be given details and direction of what is expected and needed from me , and im happy to adhere, i am also happy to work alone
