• Carry out minor service such as change
engine oil, change oil filter, replace air filter
and carry out full safety checks.
• Carry out major service such as change
spark plugs, change drive belts, service and
repairs transmission, differentials.
• Service and adjust various components
including greasing oiling.
• Check for operation of all electric
components e.g. – all lights, wipers, signs,
horn, fuses etc.
• Check and bleed break system.
• Replace brake pads, discs, calipers, brake
lines etc.
• Repairs and service fuel system.

• Service cooling system, flushing and
changing radiator replace hoses and water
pump.
• Inspect and replace suspension
components e.g. shockers, bushes, spring
etc.
• Rotate tyres and check condition of tyres.
• Battery testing, replace and changing if
needed
• Check electronic devices with use of
multi-metre and electronic scan tool.
• Replace globes, fuses and relays.
• Discuss problems with car owners/drivers
to find faults, listen to engines, clarify
specific needs of the clients, take notes in
writing and contact clients if any problem
arises other than specified.
• Work as a team with other mechanics
when team work is required.
• Use proficiency and take care of the
major and minor tools in workshop.
• Test drive for final checking.
• Reassemble, test, clean and adjust
repaired or replaced parts or assemblies,
use various instruments to make sure they
are working properly and put them back
into the vehicle.
• Checks remove and replace tyres and
tubes, fit new tubes, repair punctures.
• Clean floor and work place area. Maintain
hygiene.
• Manage and take care of tools being
used.
