VULALIMA EVIVI VUNIWAI

Narrandera,NSW

Summary

I am an internationally qualified Registered Nurse with 16 years of nursing experience, including 12 years in a rural hospital as a medical-surgical and general nurse. And 3 years as a primary health nurse posted in remote nursing stations, and 1 year as a specialized eye care nurse in Fiji.

I am keen to apply for the Registered Nurse position at Narrandera Hospital under the Murrumbidgee Local Health District NSW. I am motivated and eager to learn, enhance, and expand my professional knowledge and skills as a nurse, and I am adaptable to new environments.I am energetic and goal-driven. Utilizing my goal-driven skills, i achieved my goal as an internationally qualified nurse to complete the Observational Based Assessment by AHPRA to transition to Australian registered Nurse. At the same time, i completed a Graduate Diploma of Dementia Care at the University Of Tasmania while I worked full time in the role of Assistant In Nursing at an aged care facility, and drugs and alcohol recovery centre.

As an internationally qualified nurse, I value diversity in culture and I am committed to modelling behaviors consistent with the Murrumbidgee Local Health District's values to respect promote, and protect human rights especially those of the vulnerable people under my care. I promote and highly encourage adherence to the code of ethics in nursing practice, policies, and regulations. As a nurse based out in rural areas, i ensured policies were maintained with cold chains for vaccines and proper inventories of properties under my care as a remote nurse. As a nurse working in rural and remote islands, i had to be a critical thinker in emergencies at any time of the day or night when a phone network was not available to manage and stabilize patients before a doctor could be contacted. During my employment as a nurse, I ensured that the nursing care provided was within my scope of practice to safeguard my work and promote the achievement of the goals of positive patient treatment outcomes. I have good written and verbal communication skills, and i utilized these skills to ensure timely referral of patients in critical conditions from remote nursing stations where i practiced to base hospitals for further medical treatments, thus achieving positive clinical outcomes and consumer experience.
